Everyone Welcome!

East Lake Washington Audubon Society "adopts" the Interpretive Trail East Lake Washington Audubon Society has entered into a partnership with King County to become stewards of the Interpretive Trail, with plans to enhance the trail and extend it as a Birding Loop at Marymoor.
Parking Pass availability A $1/visit parking fee is now in effect.  An annual parking pass is now available for $100 through KC Parks and through certain park user groups (i.e. SODA)  Shorter-term passes are also available from KC Parks at the park office.
NAPCOR RECYCLING BINS Visitors to Marymoor Park now can recycle plastic soda and water bottles (#1 PET) at more than 20 locations throughout the park. This was made possible by a grant from the National Association of PET Container Recycling, and matching funds from Friends Of Marymoor Park, the Pepsi-Cola Company, and the King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks.

Your group and constituents are key players in making the plastic bottle recycling effort a success. Here are a few quick items to share with your group and park visitors:

  1. Please help us by spreading the word about the bins and their location. We fondly refer to the new bins as “Big PETes”. Big PETes should always be paired up with a trash can. If you see a lonely Big PETe, please move it back with a trash can.
  2. If a bag is full and you can see an empty bag underneath it, please pull the full bag out and place it next to the Big PETe. Please put the liner into the bin and put the top back on.
If you see contamination and feel comfortable taking it out, please do and put it in the trash. Paper, plastic bags and glass are considered contamination. If a bag has more than 1/4 (estimate only) contamination, it'll have to go into the garbage.
  3. 3) Aluminum cans are fine - leave them in because the recycling company can separate those out. Glass is not acceptable because when it breaks, it is dangerous for the workers and can break the machines at the recycling center.
