Friends of Marymoor Park

October 22nd, 2008 Meeting Summary

-- see also the September 24, 2008 meeting summary

Greg just got me some quick notes he took last month, so I'll post them as an abbreviated summary

In attendance:  Greg Helland, SODA, FOMP President; Herb Bone, Marymoor R/C Club, FOMP Board; Brian Vanderstoop, Marymoor Velodrome Association; Norah Gaynor, King County Parks; Barbara Dickson, neighbor.

Marymoor Map:  Norah reviewed the map containing the edits resulting from previous FOMP comments.  Most things had been taken care of, though Norah did not know the details of comments that might have been submitted directly to Frana.  The map is now considered to be "done", awaiting printing.

Marymoor Connector Trail:  Paving compete, with remaining surface work limited to the crosswalk at the R/C Field parking lot area.  That work, requiring a road closure of the main road through Marymoor, was scheduled for 11/5 & 11/6.

The almost-completed trail ends at the east edge of Marymoor Park proper.  Extension of the trail across the easement on the storage company land is currently in permitting.  That "missing link" will connect the Marymoor Connector Trail to the East Lake Sammamish Trail.  It is expected that the extension will be done using the same contractor.  It is hoped that the extension will be complete by March, 2009, at which time the entire trail will have a Grand Opening.

Ballfields 1&2 - Turf going in.  New lights are up.  Project still on schedule for completion by the end of the year, but weather could cause delays.

Pet Garden:  Fence ordered, waiting delivery. It is hoped it will be installed by the end of the year.  Engraving work is now done to-date.

Bird Loop:  Some of the interpretive signs have been installed.  Boardwalk extension work is still on hold, awaiting correct grating materials to be delivered.

Clise Mansion Electrical:  Fixtures arrived, and work should be finished by the end of the year.
